We are fully committed to non-violent civil rights advocacy. Through disciplined, positive action we can achieve any political objective that is morally right. The first step of becoming a Libertarian is to take an oath of non-violence (full pledge below). Beyond that first step, the heart of the Libertarian Party is to fight for the rights of every American citizen and the reduction of the government's role in our lives wherever possible. We believe in a Party that is inclusive of all peoples. We believe that the principles of the Party guide us to be the best stewards of our community resources. If you have any questions about the Libertarian philosophy, please feel free to contact us or your local Libertarian Party affiliate. We’d love to chat.
The Libertarian pledge, a statement individuals must sign in order to join the Libertarian Party of the United States, declares, "I hereby certify that I do not believe in or advocate the initiation of force as a means of achieving political or social goals."
